Vintage Pearl Poodle Brooch from EllaQuaint

This pretty poodle brooch from EllaQuaint would be a welcome addition to any pet loving home.
So beautiful and regal, it represents the breed with a vintage flair!

I myself own a Labradoodle, so I'm fond of of their happy outgoing personality.

Anytime I can, I try to improve the welfare of animals.
I donate items to my local Humane Society.
and I also donate 10% of my sales to the Team EFA's Charity of the month.

Bird Pendant by JewelryByScotti

Although I personally am not very comfortable with birds in cages, I know that birds can be delightful house pets for many people. They offer a special kind of companionship. This colorful, bright necklace by JewelryByScotti reminds me of a cheerful bird song.

I donate 25% of all sales from Jewelry by Scotti to my favorite animal shelter, where I used to volunteer before moving to another state. I also donate regularly to Wolf Park (Indiana), Big Cat Rescue, Panthera, Defenders of Wildlife, and the Snow Leopard Trust.

Digitial Kitty Face Stamp by DOGonmylapDESIGN

This digital stamp of a pretty kitty by DOGonmylapDESIGNS celebrates one of the most popular pets - cats!

I'm a brand new member thrilled to be on this team. I donate a portion of every sale from my shop to help support the Humane Society of the US and give to other animal charities when able. I sign petitions on a weekly basis (maybe more now that I'm on this team!) and house my own rescue, hoping to rescue another. I feed the wild birds in our neighborhood, since they mowed down half their forest to put up our houses back in the day. I'm not a full vegetarian, but I don't eat most meats. I have donated food, towels and paper towel and TP rolls to the animal rescue league in my town. My mother and I wrote a nature blog for a year and some of our essays highlighted people doing wonderful things for animals and animal-related areas.

Ipo's Dream Dog Art Coaster by terikor

To each of us our house pet is special. We all love the unconditional love our pets give to us. Some people prefer a dog to a cat or they love both. Others prefer a particular breed. It really does not matter because they are all our pets and have their special place in each of our homes. In my case I have 4 Salukis and a cat and they pretty much rule the roost.

terikor
chose this tile coaster called Ipo’s Dream to represent the March theme of house pets. I met Ipo, a Cocker Spaniel on one of my trips to Hawaii. He was the devoted pet of some friends who lived on Maui. I did several drawings of Ipo because he was such a love and had the most expressive eyes. As an artist I love capturing the essence of animals through the eyes. Your house pet can tell me so much as I look into his or her eyes. In all my animal art the eyes play a predominant role.

Since Ipo was a Cocker Spaniel, I think it only appropriate that I donate to a Cocker Spaniel rescue and as it turns out the Etsy for Animalsl charity of the month for March is a Cocker Spaniel Rescue,
Life's Little Paws. I therefore choose this rescue as the beneficiary from the sale of this Tile Coaster and all my other Cocker Spaniel artwork.

Deluxe Beaded Collar by davir

This beaded collar by davir provides a bit luxury for a house pet for those special days!

I try to do my best in my home and participate in dog rescue programs. I usually give discount to the owners of rescued dogs, because I think this kind of generous attitude deserves it. I especially support the Pumi Rescue Service, because I have two of this breed (Pocok and Juharka, a boy and a girl).

Kitty in the Window ACEO by LolaLynn

This charming ACEO print is by LolaLynn. All of us who have kitties know this pose. Is she watching a bird or contemplating the mysteries of the universe?

LolaLynn's shop donates to EFA's Charity of the Month Program and has been doing so since 2008. Check out the end of our policy page to see many of the charities EFA has donated to since it began the COTM.

Coco 8x10 Watercolor Painting by KneeDeepOriginals

This is a watercolor painting by KneeDeepOriginals is of a shelter dog who was fortunate enough to find his FURever home.

All proceeds of the sale of this painting, minus fees and shipping, will be donated to the building project of our shelter so that there is more room to house more homeless animals and help them find homes. Recently I sold an oil painting on Etsy that I did in memory of a precious kitten who did not find a home. The money from that sale also went to benefit our local homeless critters. It is at least something I can do since I can't adopt them all!

Snuggly Pet Leg Warmers by jessicalynneart

These cozy leg warmers are fun little accessories by jessicalynneart that keep pets warm and toasty. James Dean the Pug is always a bit sad when I leave for dance class twice a week. I could tell that he was envious of my ballet attire, so I made him some leg warmers of his own!

Each month I support the Pug Rescue of New England as well as the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals by donating $1 from every sale to one these charities. I also donate knit pet accessories and stationery to shelter and rescue auctions to help them to raise money. Aside from my work with rescue efforts, I am a vegan who blogs recipes and promotes healthy living and I am also the challenge blog volunteer for our lovely team.

Jellicle Cat Silk Tapestry Box by brizel4TheAnimals

Jellicle Cat is a sweet soft fiber arts container by brizel4TheAnimals featuring reclaimed & upcycled black silk sari yarn paired with a variegated purple cotton hemp yarn. It has a lid of its own which is embellished with a hand painted carved feline portrait Czech glass art button.

Jellicle Cat dreams of being a kitty pirate... after all, she was born with the right markings. Today she is all dressed up & ready for her fantastical battle. Of course when she wakes up... she'll realize that she was only in a feline fairy tail but in the meantime... everything is purr-fect.

This animal Silk Tapestry Art Box measures approx: 3 3/8" in diameter x 2 1/4" high with an interior cavity of 2" in diameter x 1 5/8" high. Its raw silk weight is roughly 1.7 oz (50 g).

ANiMAL CHARiTY DONATiON
10% of all SILK TAPESTRY BOX sales will be donated to animal charities, notably Team EFA's CHARiTY OF THE MONTH which differs each month. Please visit our team's website to read about this month's charity: efaartistshelpinganimals.org/charities.htm

I own some 20 acres up in the mountains where I have planted orchards and floral gardens. Personal funds are put towards helping to sustain this habitat which attracts birds, butterflies, bees, bats, hummingbirds... and it is also a seasonal mating ground for dragonflies ! Twilight is part of a 2,000 acre ranch out in the chaparral wilderness where wild animals still roam.

I provide a home for my animal rescues, create & maintain habitat for wildlife to prosper, support animal welfare through petition & animal advocacy work, donate 10% of my Silk Tapestry Art Box sales to EFA's Charity of the Month, and promote & support Team EFA members through Etsy Treasuries & the EFA blog. My supply shop: BrizelSupplies is a sponsor for EFA's COTM program. I am also Team Captain, Membership & COTM Leader & Blog Editor for Team EFA !

Knit Rabbit Beverage Cozies by knitbyvalerie

Want a cozy for your 12 oz beverage that can easily travel in your back pocket? This set of 4 from knitbyvalerie features the increasingly popular house pet, the adorable rabbit. Personally, I feel very strongly that rabbits belong in the home--and with these cozies, even people allergic to rabbits can show their love for them. Additionally, this listing also has a photo that features one of our dogs, Arwen. She is not for sale.

I promote the regular EFA blog every day through Yahoo Groups and on Etsy Teams. I encourage friends and family to adopt rather than buy every chance I get and have 6 rescues of my own, including 2 house rabbits and the above -mentioned Arwen.

Cherry Blossom Dog Collar by ShortcakeDesigns

This collar by ShortcakeDesigns is created for any medium sized dog, and with its light blue background with cream and pink cherry blossoms and tiny hot pink flowers this collar is absolutely stunning! Ready for spring! It is made with cotton fabric lined with heavy duty, but light weight interfacing which makes the collar sturdy yet flexible providing a comfortable fit.

Since my house can't possibly hold any more rescues (we have two corgis and two long hair calicos), and I just have to help stray and abandoned animals, I donate all profits from the sale pet merchandise from my etsy store. So far my donations have got to support my local animal center via the
Friends of the Animal Center organization in Iowa City. Additionally, I plan to start supporting the National Mill Dog Rescue organization with my next donation.

March Monthly Challenge Theme: House Pets

I’m proud to announce that our March monthly challenge theme is (drumroll please)...

House Pets

show us a house pet or something made for a pet !

Here are a few examples...

Blue Camo Catnip Fortune Cookies by ShaggyChic

And if you need more inspiration... here is a cute lil poem to enjoy:

All I Need To Know About Life I Learned From My Dog

Author: Unknown

Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joy ride.

Allow the experience of fresh air
and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.
When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
Run, romp, and play daily.

Be loyal.
Never pretend to be something you're not.
Eat with gusto and enthusiasm.
If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.

When someone is having a bad day, be silent,
sit close by and nuzzle them gently.
Thrive on affection and let people touch you -
enjoy back rubs and pats on your neck.
When you leave your yard, make it an adventure.

Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
No matter how often you're scolded,
don't pout - run right back and make friends.
Bond with your pack.

On cold nights, curl up in front of a crackling fire.
When you're excited, speak up.
When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.

If you stare at someone long enough,
eventually you'll get what you want.
Don't go out without ID.

Leave room in your schedule for a good nap.
Always give people a friendly greeting.
If it's not wet and sloppy, it's not a real kiss.
