EFA Members in Etsy Storque Poll

Carol of faeriegood convoed me to let me know that her May Challenge entry had been chosen for Etsy's Flowers and Gardening poll. When I checked it out, I discovered that Michele's (mvegan5) May Challenge entry was there as well. And Peylu also has a lovely entry.

Baby Hare Beauty Soft Sculpture by dragonhouseofyuen

Please meet baby hare Beauty. Beauty is a very shy little hare with big brown eyes. She rarely speaks to the others and quite often her face will feel very hot from her blushing. However, rather strangely she likes to roll around in the flowers. Not just a little flop – but a big stretch and slither over them with wiggling on her back too. She is usually covered in petals and pollen from whisker to tail. And much to her chagrin she attracts a lot of attention! Never-the-less to immerse herself in flowers is to find true happiness and freedom from her hot face flushes.

Beauty has been made with great care and she has safety eyes. She has been machine and hand sewn by me and will have many ‘unique’ (imperfect, handmade) bits. However, she is not recommended for children and is not a toy. She prefers to sit on a shelf next to fresh flowers, maybe with a mat underneath to catch the dropped petals and pollen spores.

Beauty is looking forward to her journey to her forever home! She also wants you to know that baby hares are called leverets. She comes with a small tag telling her story.

Annette of dragonhouseofyuen donates a percentage of some of her sales to help different rabbit rescues and animal charities .

Angora Bracelet by Lacewood

This bracelet fits this month's theme because of the delicate lace leaf and vine pattern that wraps elegantly around your wrist, making a leafy bed for a scattering of glass and metal flower beads - a veritable flower patch for your wrist! And the corset style lacing at the wrist, reminiscent of basket weaving, makes this bracelet adjustable to fit a wide range of wrist sizes. This handknit bracelet is made with my own handspun angora and soysilk yarn.

This bracelet is 100% cruelty free! The angora in this bracelet comes from my own bunny, who is a house rabbit & lives like royalty. And soysilk is a byproduct of tofu, NOT silkworms. So you can revel in the soft luxury of this angora & soysilk bracelet with a clear conscience!

My favorite charity is Little Miracles Rabbit Rescue. The remodeling of their new facility is finally complete and they have just celebrated their grand opening!

Sugar Magnolia Necklace by LonesomeRoadStudio

April and May are just full of beautiful trees in bloom, and dramatic magnolia flowers are among my favorite... and I love the Grateful Dead song, too.

5% of the purchase price of "Sugar Magnolia" will be donated to the EFA Artists Helping Animals charity of the month, and an additional 5% will be donated to VanishingBees.com, a group working to promote awareness and research of Colony Collapse Disorder in the honeybee population.

I have recently signed up to volunteer with the Great Sunflower Project (www.greatsunflower.org) and am donating to two local animal shelters in my area!

Magnificent - Midnight Glory by Peylu

A digitally rendered image of our Night blooming Cereus aka Epiphyllum oxypetalum or Dutchman's Pipe.

A tropical cactus, it is best known for it’s large white fragrant flowers which open up at sundown and are gone by sunrise. One can actually watch as the large, many petaled flowers unfurl over the course of 2 hours following sundown. The blooms quiver as they slowly open up to their full glory. The flowers span 6 to 8 inches when fully opened.

10% of Peylu's sales goes to EFA's charity of the month.

Lace Angora and Soysilk Gauntlets by Lacewood

These elegant gauntlets fit this month's theme because of the delicate lace pattern that resembles basket weaving which frames the Victorian-era double rose leaf motif. The silver-plated brass Celtic knotwork charms also are reminiscent of basket weaving. A delicate rose-colored strand of handspun soysilk accents the primary undyed handspun fawn angora & soysilk yarn, and adds a springtime flowery feel. And to top it all off, at the top point of each gauntlet rests a little rose-colored glass flower atop a silver-plated brass double rose leaf charm.

These gauntlets are also 100% cruelty free. The angora these gauntlets are made of is from a good friend's bunny, who is very well loved and well treated! And soysilk is a byproduct of tofu, NOT silkworms. So you can revel in the soft luxury of these angora & soysilk gauntlets with a clear conscience!

My favorite charity is Little Miracles Rabbit Rescue. The remodeling of their new facility is finally complete and they have just celebrated their grand opening! There's no time to just sit back and celebrate, though - right away they took in another 20 rabbits in need of new forever homes.

Reusable Flower Basket Tote by faeriegood

For me, spring time is a time of renewal and new beginnings: I thought it was pretty easy to meet the challenge for this theme, I liked the idea of using a pre-purchased tote and helping to support my local organic market and at the same time supporting the May Charity.

My favorite charity is, of course, the Siberians at S*N*O, but I think it's important to help others too, so I'm planning on submitting a new item each month to benefit the different charities picked by efa. Saving the animals is so important and saving the planet is essential to all of us.

To quote Chief Seattle:"Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect."

If you like this item, please visit my two shops at:http://www.faeriegood.etsy.com/, for wearable, decorative and practical handmade arthttp://www.chicadolly.etsy.com/, for doll clothing and accessories for all 18" dolls especially the American Girl Doll.

1 Orchid greeting card with envelope by ArtbyMarilyn

I have always been partial to the orchid not just because of the flower’s beauty but also because of the memories I have of it. Many years ago my father made my mother a member of the "National Orchid Society". She loved the orchid as she did all flowers. She used to get wilted plants and bring them back to life more beautiful that ever. I had to paint an Orchid in my parents' memory. I hope you like it.
