ModJess---Scrabble Tile Pendant---DESERT PRAIRIE DOG

An adorable Albuquerque Prairie Dog stands against a subtle background of cacti and sun to fit our July Challenge theme: Sun and SummerAnimal Friends.

I photographed this little prairie dog in my neighborhood, where one of many urban colonies of prairie dogs struggles to survive. Thanks to Prairie Dog Pals, a local Albuquerque non-profit, they receive food donations (which they need to survive) and relocations (when their habitat is threatened).

Right now, Prairie Dog Pals is in urgent need of donations to help relocate a colony of prairie dogs that a church is threatening to destroy.

Thanks for helping me to spread the word. More info can be found here: http://www.prairiedogpals.org/news/index.html

Butterfly T-Shirt for American Girl Doll by chicadolly

This is a cute little t-shirt with a butterfly embroidery that I made for 18' dolls. I think it fits the June bug theme perfectly. I am hoping to help promote EFA in this new shop and you may already know me from my faeriegood shop which was my first here at etsy. My 2 nine year old grand daughters were the inspiration for this new shop and I hope to branch out and add stuffed animals and other items, which will help the cause of new rescues that efa chooses to highlight in the coming months. Thanks for your support!

Jitterbug Earrings by WanderlustJewels

These fun little wire wrapped agate bugs are too cute! With their little brown bodies, and curled antennae the remind me of the June Bugs that used to congregate on my front porch when I was a kid.

I'm just starting out with EFA, but I already donate to my local animal shelter and the ASPCA.

Butterfly Thinking - Single Handmade Greeting Card by EnsorcelledMinds

How it fits the theme: I've started trying my hand at my own die cuts on my new electronic cutter. I had this Boss Kut butterfly design so I came up with my natural habitat to place it in on my own! 10% of this listing will go to the EFA Charity of the Month, so if you send this card to someone you are thinking of, you will also be thinking of nature and the animals!

About myself: This card can be found in the "Magic of Charity" section of my Etsy shop where I have various listings with a percentage going to animal charities. Some support the EFA charities of the month and some support S.O.A.R.: Southern Ontario Animal Rescue which is a charitable dog rescue in my local area.

closer necklace by LonesomeRoadStudio

What do you want to get closer to?

A luna moth, attracted to a briliant flame, is the centerpiece of the "Closer" necklace. The luna moth, handcrafted in polymer clay then hand-painted in luminous shades of greens and teal accented with silver, is 2-3/4 (7cm) inches wide and 3 inches (7.5cm) long (including the stunning Swarovski crystal "flame").

5% of the purchase price of "Closer" will be donated to the EFA Artists Helping Animals charity of the month, and an additional 5% will be donated to VanishingBees.com, a group working to promote awareness and research of Colony Collapse Disorder in the honeybee population.

Congratulations LonesomeRoadStudio! This piece sold before it was posted in the blog.

Ladybug Picnic by TheModDog

This adorable 1" wide martingale collar has a yellow ladybug design on sturdy red nylon webbing. It also has a heavy D-ring for attatching tags. All collars are triple stitched at stress points to prevent breaking and prolong durability. It fits the theme of June bugs because it has ladybugs crawling all over it.

I am volunteer from the Atlanta Weimaraner Club Rescue http://www.atlantalovesweims.org/ in Atlanta,GA. I help out with adoption days, pull and transport dogs from shelters, and also donate collars and a portion of my sales to this rescue. I have also donated collars to other rescues like Bostons By the Bay Rescue http://www.bostonsbythebay.com/

Dance of the Fireflies - original, framed by WindandHoney

I am from the midwestern US and we have bugs that are actually called Junebugs. But since they kind of resemble flying pinto beans, they aren't very artistically inspiring. So I chose another summer bug - fireflies or lightning bugs as we called them when I was little. We would go out at night and they would fly by with their little backsides all lit up. We would hop and dance around trying to catch them. If you could get one, they would light up inside your hand and you could see their light through your fingers.

I donate 10% of my profits from the sale of my art to animal charities. This would be from any of my art, not just the etsy shop. I also often donate artistic services or completed pieces to local groups for fundraisers.

Ladybug Baby Shower Gift Set by faeriegood

This was made especially for the Junebug Challenge at EFA. This 6 piece ladybug shower set is a cheerful and practical one of a kind combination sure to please the new Mom-to- be.

Faeriegood's favorite charity is the Siberians at S*N*O, but believes it's important to help others too, so she is planning on submitting a new item each month to benefit the different charities picked by EFA. "Saving the animals is so important and saving the planet is essential to all of us."

Beatrice the Bumble Bee Bead by nanjodogz

Little Beatrice the Bumble Bee comes out in the summertime and is a very scary bumble bee, she's out looking for people she can scare -- problem is nobody seems to get too frightened when they happen upon her.

The charities I support are the Illinois Doberman Rescue and Anti Cruelty Society and I have certain items in my shop with the percentage of sales going to EFA's Monthly Charity.

Butterfly Notecard by LolaLynn

Colorful pastel butterflies create a festive look on these 5 by 6 inch white notecards. They are $3.00 each, but you can convo me for 3 for $8.00.

Each card is slightly different, created at the whim of the artist (that's me!). 10% will be donated to Etsy for Animals charity of the month.

Ladybug Dog Scarf by caninedesign

This is my Ladybug Dog Bandana, and my favorite model, Colby. Look how he puts up with me. What a good boy. I got into bandana-making when we first started taking Colby on hikes. He was hard to spot in the woods and in the long grasses. You'd think a big red dog would be easy to see, but not so much.

I figured out what size to make them, and I realized I'd have left over fabric. Why not make more than one and help the local humane society while I was at it? So I opened shop on Etsy, joined EFA, and now, hopefully, I can make a difference for a few homeless animals.

My charity: Montgomery County Humane Society http://www.mchumane.org/

Pond Bug by claynfiber

This little guy walks on water!

He is stoneware clay; hand built and left naked except for oxide that highlights his body marks. His copper wire feelers can be twisted and moved about as his mood dictates; or your's!

The pond he walks on is glazed in variegated blue/teal/brown; is irregular in shape; measures 2.75" in length. The bug stands 1.5" and if measured to the height of antennae he is over 1.75".

My passion for clay and fibers is matched by my passion for animals and the environment. I often symbolically incorporate recycled materials into my art and a portion of all sales is donated to animal charities.

Butterfly Rectangular Pendant by artbymarilyn

I drew and painted this butterfly for my mother. It was in her garden and I love butterflies. What a gift, I thought, than to give my mom what we both share: a butterfly.

This is my sterling silver rectangular shaped 17 x 27.5 mm pendant of a butterfly with my logo, "Art By Marilyn", carved in the back.

Spider Watercolour and Embroidery by mimilove

Original one of a kind, hand painted, watercolour painting with hand embroidery on stretched canvas.

A free loose style painting of a big leggy spider!

I've kept the painting free style to keep the colours fresh and bright, sketchy pencil marks are also visible. Colours are shades of bright yellows and turquoisey greens with flashes of violets and reds.

Spider is hanging off his web which is a mass of crissy crossy embroidery silks in various lilac/lavender shades.

In addition to the Creepy Crawly chorus from Boris the Spider by The Who I've also hand stitched the lines:"Will you walk into my parlour?" said the Spider to the Fly, 'Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy" From Mary Howitt's The Spider and the FlyThe "parlour" is all prettified with a positive confetti of wee stitches in pinks, greens, reds and blue, pretty silky/glittery daisies and a few french knot buggy bits skittering about.

But wait! Is it a bird?! Is it a plane?! ..Nope, it's Spiderman Spiderman doing what ever spider can...in this case, just hanging around, doin his thing in amongst the floweryness!

The main charity mimilove supports is Cat's Protection Centre http://www.tamcats.co.uk/

Mimilove gives a percentage of her sales and also donates artwork and jewellery for fund raising events.
