Without you I'd croak - Single Handmade Card by EnsorcelledMinds

I love this little boy showing off his hippity hoppity frog! This stamp from High Hopes is going to do wonders for the scrapbook pages of my nephews! Fortunately for me, it also fits the April EFA Theme!

Like EFA, I like to rotate the charities to which I donate. However, there are three which my art supports: Souther Ontario Animal Rescue (SOAR - a local dog rescue), Etsy for Animals and Creative Animal Relief. Outside of my shops, I teach beginner card making classes from time to time with half of the class proceeds going to SOAR.

Valentine Luv Bunny by wovendreams

I'm Valentine. Will you adopt me? I need a forever home.

Valentine is a bunny made of handwoven (by me, of course) fabric. I call this series (yes, there are more) my Luv Bunnies. She/he stands 11 inches tall. She/he has set in eyes, a button heart and tied ribbons around her neck. She is not suitable as a young child's toy.

Adopt more Luv Bunnies to give Valentine a friend and start your own warren.

Wovendreams operates a rabbit rescue in Eastern North Carolina that is called Dance with the Bunnies Rabbit Rescue. Some of the items on my site are 100% donations to the rescue. The money raised goes to hay and pellets. I get all their veggies from my garden or donated by the local grocery store. They are all discarded pet bunnies that I get healthy, spay/neuter, socialize and then put up for adoption to find forever homes. My husband and I started the rescue about 8 years ago. The rabbits stay with us in our home. We have found homes for over 100 rabbits.

The Pug and the Birdie by nanjodogz

This little Pug has definitely got into the spirit of spring, he came upon a hungry baby bird and has decided to share his very tasty bone.

The sculpture is a mixed media piece. The Pug is hand-sculpted from polymer clay and sits next to a vintage wooden bird ornament embellished further with polymer clay eggs and beads.

Lately I have been giving to various charities over the Internet either through EFA or when a story really hits home and I have the money like Sammy's story -- http://www.noahs-arks.net/RESCUE/SAMMY.html -- from Noahs Arks Rescue, he broke my heart and I had a bit extra so my sister and I both donated something.

Bun Ring by walkonthemoon

This ring is one of my faves. The bunny is absolutely adorable! Its sure to bring compliments. The neutral tone of the genuine Mother of Pearl makes it eye catching without being totally overpowering like some cocktail rings. Your bunny may face either left or right, based on what I have in stock. Adjustable band. Very Limited!

My charity work is with BONES Beagle Rescue. 100% of the purchase price of the Rose Earrings in my shop goes to Rescue Beagles in New England!!

The Bath - a 4x6 photo on a 5x7 notecard by LolaLynn

How about a little spring cleaning?

This kitty is taking a long luxurious bath in Burano, Italy. I just love the rich and vibrant colors of this photo. If you ever get to Venice, taking the ferry to Burano is a must. Its brightly colored houses, green shuttered flower filled windows are charming. And the church's bell tower lean rivals that of Pisa.

This 4x6 photo is adhered to a 5x7 notecard and comes with a matching envelope.

LolaLynn's shop supports Etsy for Animals charity of the month every month as well as having designated items for AWBAR (Abandoned Wild Babies Animal Rescue) and other charitable concerns as they arise.

Team EFA Spring - Hop into Spring with Whimsical Dots Snuggle Sack - custom embroidery by rendachs

My Dachshunds don't hop much but they sure love the spring colors and the lighter feel of their new snuggle sack.

Spring is here! Spoil your best friend with a lightweight soft and cozy furry fleece snuggle sack.

Your pet will love to snuggle inside this stylish super soft sack! You can slip a pillow inside for added comfort and watch your pet sink into the softness or simply watch your pet snuggle in the soft furry lining.

This sack measures 24"x 28". The sack includes an embroidered personalization. A wide turned down cuff will have your dog's name embroidered on it in your choice of color.

My contribution to the animals: fostering rescues, donations to the Dachshund rescue of North America, donations of items to my local humane society, generally helping when I can to any and all creatures, cheerleading for team EFA on Etsy, and just being kind to all animals.

Chicken - A Watercolour and Embroidery on canvas by mimilove

Whilst there's no actual rabbits, "She's no Spring chicken!"..is something I hear quite often. Henny is nestled amongst a bushy undergrowth of hand embroidered greenery using a variety of silks and cottons in various shades of greens and yellows and a hint of contrasting lilac. A ribbon of embroidery and glittery glass beads in a rainbow of colours runs through the middle of the picture to give added texture

Its an original one of a kind, hand painted, watercolour painting with hand embroidery on stretched canvas. I've kept the painting free style to keep the colours fresh and bright, sketchy pencil marks are also visible. Colours are shades of ochres, oranges and lavender with pinky red detailing.

The main charity I support is my local Cat's Protection centre http://www.tamcats.co.uk/ . I give a percentage of any sales I make and also donate artworks and jewellery for fund raising events.

Desert Jack Rabbit Faux Ceramic Petroglyph Necklace by StephHansonCreations

This ceramic look polymer clay pendant features an ancient desert dwelling bun bun. Coated with a glossy glaze that brings out colors and sheen as well as protects the piece. The pendant measures approx 1" X 1" and is attached to a 16" waxed cotton cord (with 3" extender chain) by a handcrafted copper bail.

My entry fits the "Hop Into Spring" theme because it features a petroglyph bunny - and when you think of spring...you think about bunnies!

I support animal charities by volunteering at Dreamchaser PMU Rescue and Rehabilitation ( http://www.dreamchaserpmu.org/ ) I help care for the horses and other animals there and I also recently adopted a rescued horse. I also donate 25% of my sales to the rescue and I'm also working on a Dreamchaser signature line of jewelry that the rescue can sell at adoption events and fundraisers. I am providing the jewelry and my services free of charge.

This happy bunny measures approx 4 inches. She is lovingly dry needle felted from shocking pink merino fleece in a process taking many hours. She is totaly needle felted: no string, no wire, no filler - just fleeceeven her cute little paw pads.

BLUE HAWAIIAN BINKY CATNIP TOY FOR EFA CHARITY by osha

After a long cold winter its time to bring out the Hawaiian prints.

Aloha kitty. This fun Binky is perfect for your little sun bather. Lovely hibiscus flowers on a beautiful blue background. It is finished with jingle bells securely sewn in one corner. Made of cotton and with the reverse side a swirly design in black. This Binky is cub size.

But what is a Binky?

A Binky is a special toy/mat filled with catnip that will drive your kitty wild! Just open it, add the nip, and shake it up. This toy will provide you with endless entertainment and your kitty with euphoric bliss. You may find that your kitty will spend their day playing, sleeping, wrestling, and odd enough, licking on it.

100% of the clams (money) will go to the chosen EFA charity.

Kitty Cucumber Patchwork Crib Size Quilt by faeriegood

What a great shower gift this would make,or maybe it's the perfect gift for the special little girl in your life.

This adorable quilt was designed, pieced and machine quilted by me, and is made of quilt shop cotton fabric with 100 percent cotton batting. It features six different framed kitty cucumber motifs alternated by pieced patchwork squares.

Pink is the predominant color, followed by green, purple and yellow. The binding was carefully hand sewn for the best possible finish and matches the backing fabric which is also used in the quilt body. I have already washed it several times to get the vintage crinkly look and the finished measurement is now 54"x41".It can be machine washed and dried.

The quilt was inspired by kitty named Bossy who crossed over the rainbow last spring. He had a pretty good life for a rescued ferral cat and had just celebrated his 20th (human years) birthday. He lived up to his name and helped to train my various dogs, cats, bunnies and hamsters in proper social conduct throughout his life time.

From the proceeds of the sale of this item I will donate $50 to the EFA Charity of the month for April which is:S*N*O http//www.siberiansneedingowners.org

Surfer Girl Hat in Coquina by SunsetSurf

Ever since I made this I've thought "this looks like an Easter Egg!"Pastel colors always remind me of Spring.

This hat is perfect after a chilly day in the surf, during a night beach walk, or on any day that needs a little warming up. It is made from 100% space dyed wool, which makes it warm, breathable, and naturally water resistant. The yarn is a "thick and thin" yarn, which makes almost every stitch look a little different! All of these details combine to make this a one of a kind item. I call this color "coquina" because it reminds me of the beautiful pastel shades found on coquina shells.

Sunsetsurf donates 5% of all sales to the Save the Manatee Club.

Lion Cub Greeting Card by ArtbyMarilyn

I love animals. A friend of mine took me to an animal preserve in Wisconsin to get my mind of the State of Wisconsin problem.

This little guy was sitting in the heat with flies covering him and being teased by some children. I told them not to do that and to bring him some water. They did and I showed them how to use a piece of cloth to rub him down to cool off and to shew the flies away. He really touched me. I was told this is my worst work but it is one dear to my heart. The little guy was so vulnerable.

So Sweet Lamb- Single Handmade Greeting Card - 15 Percent to Charity by EnsorcelledMinds

Simple. Clean. Clear. Enchanted Whispers are cards that deliver your message in style. When you send handmade, you stand out.

This little lamb by Quickutz is quite adorable. I've decided to try it out with flocking, which are little fuzzy fibers adhered to the image. It creates a very soft lamb for the March challenge!

I teach beginner card-making workshops for a local dog rescue, Souther Ontario Animal Rescue. This organization is very small and struggling with animal overflow. Some other items in my shop also have proceeds going to this cause.

I discovered EFA in the forums and love that it spreads the help around various deserving charities. I can only help in small ways myself, but MANY people doing something small can make a BIG difference!

Two Beautiful Entries by a New Member - Lacewood

Love Pads on Four Paws - Wooden Spoon - I think it fits the theme really nicely, with pawprints intermingled with hearts on a wooden spoon. Well...love might not be in the *air*, exactly, on my spoon, but it's certainly padding about on four feet! And since the ground itself is not depicted, I suppose those pawprints are floating in the air...okay, I'm being silly now -- but I think it's a good entry and I hope you do, too.

Rusty Rose angora & soysilk laceweight yarn - a lace-lover's dream - deliciously delicate at 24 wpi! Perfect for your yarn-loving valentine, perfect for adding strikingly elegant lace trim or edgings, or for giving one-of-a-kind splendor to any project!

I think it's a pretty romantic color! Love is certainly spun into the yarn, if not the air. And since I couldn't have made it without the help of my bunny and his wool, it's a collaborative human-rabbit effort - so I think the animal theme is covered there. I hope you agree!

I live with one of the most overprivileged rabbits on earth, a delightful angora bunny who is litterbox trained and plays with my cat and romps about - and who also helps me spin beautiful yarn and knit lovely lace with his wool! He's got a great life, and many, many bunnies are not so lucky. So he and I are teamed up to help raise money for other less fortunate bunnies, with 10% of all angora items going to Little Miracles Rabbit Rescue. And we'll be adding other animal-themed non-angora items to the charity effort as well, just because -- this pawprint love spoon being an example of that!

Priceless and the lady begin an enduring love affair. They swap hearts, his mouth tick goes away and they both can’t stop smiling. She tells him her name is Evdokia. He loves her name – just as beautiful as her. The Brilliant Light of Undeniable Beauty - You begin an enduring love affair.

This little collage has been compiled from my illustrations of rabbits wearing jumpers, paper scraps and ephemera and recycled brochures and magazines. It has all been stuck with glue stick and double sided adhesive tape. Most of the papers go over the edges. The backing card is in blue. Backing cards are sometimes reused card and some will have type/images on the back. Priceless has many more aceo adventures coming soon.

Two-Photo Hanging Display by EnsorcelledMinds

This hanging photo display showcases two wallet-sized photographs (maximum 3.5 by 2.5 inches) - pictured here is an example with a childhood photograph of my mother. (Your Hanging Display will not come with any photos.)

Love, Bliss & Joy can describe pictures of the children, the family, the fur children, couples, the parents, best friends and more. Great for Valentine's, Anniversaries, or just because you care about someone! Hang it in the office, the foyer, the den, from a magnet on the fridge - anywhere!

Roses are pictured on the top panel and hearts on the display panels. The letters are all individually die cut and adhered by me. A mat of smaller pink hearts shows where the photos should go. You will receive enough double sided photo tape tabs to adhere two photographs (with instructions).

The reverse side has pink hearts and flowers to cover up where I applied adhesive to the ribbon handle and panel connectors. There is also a shop ID stamped on the back of the top panel and a very small signature in the bottom right corner of all panels. The backs of the panels have enough room for you to write some memoires or photo-facts if you wish! I strongly advise you use an acid-free archival pen. (Craft and scrapbook stores sell them.) Alternatively, you could write on a separate piece of paper and adhere it. From the top panel to the bottom, this display measures 12.5 inches long by 4 inches wide. The hanger is an additional 4.5 inches long.

I support SOAR: Southern Ontario Animal Rescue which is a local rescue for dogs. It is a very small registered charity that struggles to meet foster home and animal intake demands. Some of the items in my shop support this charity (search items in my shop for the tag "charity"). I also teach beginner card-making classes to raise funds and awareness for SOAR. **20%** of the proceeds from these cards (less transaction costs) will be donated to an EFA Charity of the Month.

From early beginnings as a small Little Seedling - Priceless Moments - ACEO Original Collage by dragonhouseofyuen

This is an ACEO Original Collage. Priceless Moments - follow Priceless on his travels thru life as he gives wise snippets of advice, discovers important attributes and goes thru all the yearning and desires that we all do.

Priceless remembers from early beginnings as a small Little Seedling how much he has grown and learnt. His mother taught him so many things but most important of all, she taught him love. Priceless visits the swan family and is introduced to the new babies. This is their first day.

This little collage has been compiled from my illustrations of rabbits wearing jumpers, paper scraps and ephemera and recycled brochures and magazines. It has all been stuck with glue stick and double sided adhesive tape. Most of the papers go over the edges. The backing card is in blue. Priceless has many more aceo adventures coming soon. http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=19809386

New beginnings - either as newborns, or discovering something new, beginnings are everywhere.

Annette (dragonhouseofyuen) supports a few animal charities and animal organisations by donating 10% from the sale of my Arabella bags.

How to enter a Challenge by LolaLynn

Entering the monthly Etsy for Animals Challenge is a fun way to participate in the EFA street team. Think of it as a "Show and Tell." To enter is simple but you must be a member. Contact Michele, our team leader, for membership information: mvegan5

Every month there is an opportunity for EFA members to submit one of their listings to be featured on the blog. Each month has a specific theme which the listing must reflect in some way.

EFA has a blog that is solely dedicated to our Monthly Challenges. The Monthly Challenge blog provides a lovely display of goods presented by our artists & suppliers. Its a wonderful marketing opportunity for our sellers and also shows us how they contribute to aiding our animal friends.

To submit an entry, contact etsyforanimals with the following information:

1. SHOW a link to an item in your shop that fits the theme or has been created for the theme.

2. TELL how the item fits the theme

3. TELL a bit about your work/donations/volunteer work with animal charities

Two more steps:

4. In your shop, tag the item with the theme tag (see Challenge Blog for themes-at-a-glance) Be sure to also keep your regular team tag in place, either 'team efa' or 'team efa cotm'.

5. Please make sure that your convo is specifically titled with the name of the MONTH and the word CHALLENGE, for example OCTOBER CHALLENGE.

Entries that are accepted will be displayed at the beginning of the month- approximately one each day- until all the challenges have been shown off. Members are encouraged to come visit and leave a comment.. our participants love to hear the good things members have to say about their work !!!

The first 16 challenge entries that are received will be used to create an Etsy Treasury. For every 16 received after that, a new treasury will be created. This will be done on a first come basis.

Suggestions and comments are always welcomed. Contact LolaLynn who serves as EFA's Challenge Administrator.
